History as Renegade Politics: An Interview with Ann Laura Stoler
3/2016
SUMMARY:
In May 2016, Ann Laura Stoler visited Leiden University as the Spring 2016 Global Asia Scholar. Two Leiden historians, Amrit Dev Kaur and Sanne Ravensbergen, interviewed her about her professional choices and motivations and her writing patterns and views of disciplinarity in the humanities and social sciences, as well as the ideological and personal influences that she has experienced and what it means to be a “renegade” in your own field and the world of academia.
Ab Imperio publishes the Russian translation of the original interview which is appeared in Interirario 20, no. 3 (2016): 337–387. The Russian translation is by Marina Mogilner and Sergei Glebov.
