An international humanities and social sciences peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the studies of complex societies and social dynamics.
Since 2000, Ab Imperio has been developing a distinct version of new imperial history in dialogue with postcolonial scholarship, primarily on the material of the post-Soviet region but by no means confined to it.
Originally founded in Kazan, Tatarstan, the journal moved its main office to the United States in 2013, maintaining its global reach and bilingual publication standard.
